A curious song. I watch channel "NHK World" from Japan because I like the sumo matches six times a year. And I have learned that the Japanese never cross their legs when around others. This is because the bottom of their shoes are exposed and the soles are considered dirty and offensive to others. It's a cultural thing. This may also be true elsewhere in Asia although not in America.
