Who likes soundtracks?

There's a radio station here in Germany called Klassikradio. They mainly broadcast classical music on Muzak level, background music that doesn't disturb or hurt, but also doesn't attract any attention or enthrall at all. They define monstrous soundtracks, especially those of blockbuster movies, as neoclassics. What a shame :headbash:!

Best regards!

The original Ghostbusters sound track album is good 80's stuff!!...

Both from the 70s and both great soundtracks to mediocre movies, but very zeitgeist-y:

Got this record for free when I bought a pair of Braun L710 from a local couple who were downsizing. They asked whether I cared for vinyl as they were about to throw out what they had left. Found "FM" in usable condition hiding between the obligatory K-Tel compilation albums :)

This one is a monument to 70s roots reggae in Jamaica. The movie is so-so, a lot of good music and good musicians, but a storyline that is more of an afterthought so that it gets tedious after a while.

I bought that Rockers soundtrack mostly to get the Burning Spear acapella version of Jah No Dead. ;)
I an' I will discuss about this matter ;)

Yes I forgot to mention that, it's an exclusive to this soundtrack, haven't found it anywhere else.

The same goes for Steely Dan's "FM", it can't be found on any of their albums. This one is on a few Greatest Hits compilations, though.

A Bond film (Tomorrow Never Dies) with the proper opening theme renegaded to the closing credits!!..

I always liked the K.D. Lang version (retitled Surrender) & this is what "wiki" have to say:-

"Crow's theme was eventually picked by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. In the meantime, a bold, brassy number in the classic John Barry/Shirley Bassey vein that Arnold himself wrote with David McAlmont and lyricist Don Black with the intent of being a theme, was relegated to the end credits with the title "Surrender". While McAlmont recorded the demo, "Surrender" was eventually recorded by k.d. lang after an extensive selective process.[5][6]"

In 1985, some friends had rented the clubhouse at a defunct put-put golf course.
This allowed them to let a local metal band practice there, and subsequently leave the PA setup.
This was well used as the house tunes, but the most memorable was watching Pink Panther cartoons with the (Henry Mancini) sound run through the PA rig.

Another favorite was the Batman record, Neal Hefti version.
