Thank you very much for this!
Francois de Roubaix!
François was well ahead of his time:
Hans Zimmers score for "Interstellar" is my favorite... I'm also a big fan of soundtracks... collecting them, of course... But recently I've been lucky to attend a concert, performed by Simple Music Ensemble, featuring Ludovico Einaudi's scores... OMG, that was awesome... listening to live music is something special... really...
Who can forget The Pink Panther!Henri Mancini.... for illustration : The Party OST - with the great Peter Sellers ; what a movie... quite a manifest! -
Cato... you yellow menace! Zut Alors..
OK... so much for "serious movies"
My momma talkin' to me, try to tell me how to live
But I don't listen to her 'cause my head is like a sieve
My daddy, he disowned me 'cause I wear my sisters clothes
He caught me in the bathroom with a pair of pantyhose
My basketball coach, he done kicked me off the team
For wearing high heel-sneakers and actin' like a queen (Hahaha)
The world's comin' to an end—I don't even care
As long as can I have a Limo and my orange hair
Cheech and Chong, of course!
I was sitting in a coffee shop, just minding my own affairs
When all of a sudden this policeman caught me unawares
He said, "Is your name Pedro?", I said, uh, "Yeah, I guess so"
He said, "Then come with me cause you're the man we been looking for"
....
I said, "Hey, man, I've been framed"
Hey, no, really, man, I was framed
Aw, I never do nothing wrong, man
But every time I get the blame (I've been framed!)
Makes the orange Fanta go out my nose 'cause I laugh so hard at these songs...
...
Then you got "Lost Due To Incompetence ( Theme for a Big Green Van ) by Yesca.
Awesome American Latin SoCal Rock... With Sgt. Stedenko.... Rock riffs, congas, drums, a driving line...
The whole movie, Up In Smoke, has some simply awesome beats..

Interstellar
Joker
Video game sound track, still work a listen IMO.
Music from the HBO series
Probably less well known than some of the others mentioned in this thread Terence Blanchard has a number of other sound track albums worthy of notice.
If you have access to Tidal, it has a very extensive library of both recent and classic sound track recordings.

Zimmer is good at genre xover with classical:
Dark Knight Rising could be an athmospheric industrial album.
On the industrial genre theme:
Professor Richmann ' A Succulent Blue Sway' is nice soundtrack:

Download 'Charly's Family' is a soundtrack too ( not this nice though):

Not strictly speaking a soundtrack but cinematic enough to be seen as belonging here and as Kay Piriñha started the 'fake' mouvement ( and tittle say it all: 'The inner Cinema'):
Lynch's movies and series were masterpiece. Twin Peaks and Lost Highway are my favourite.
