Acoustic Horn Design – The Easy Way (Ath4)

My CNC is ready to make these for real (for my Axi2050s) - I've made similar before but with a profile I just guessed. Would you be happy to share the curve? I'm planning to make the first 100mm in one throat-piece and morph to solid wood petals for the rest. I'll share measurements.

That's (gonna be) a biggie :)
Are the petals made of solid wood?

Do you have measurements of the Axi2050 with this horn?
I suppose you're using the Axi2050 in a 2-way setup?

yes, birch ply

Do you have measurements of the Axi2050 with this horn?

It's equalized quite flat from 600hz up but I don't have polars. That's my next project - polars taken outside with a turntable.

I suppose you're using the Axi2050 in a 2-way setup?

yes, with in wall subs.

I have something better in the meantime. I'd be happy to send you the profile if you promised you would consider donating to the project. I simply can't (and don't want to) do it completely for free.

That's fabulous. Yes, I'd be very happy to donate, I appreciate that this witchcraft is priceless. (I'll PM you about that). As you're at it, could you perhaps include the whole mouth roll back? Maybe the radius could tighten as it rolls round so as to save wood and weight. I can fix that myself in fusion but it would be nice to know what effect it had. Here's a close up of the mouth of another one I made.

Ok, one more OT post with some background info...:p

The Paraflex became popular during the 1970s and was patented in 1974 by a company called Show Sound (ShowCo. Inc.).
However, the concept is based on the Fletcher bass horn, which was developed in the early 1930's by Edward C. Wente (of WE/Bell Labs), who else?
The mighty 20" Aluminium bass compression driver sprung from the brilliant mind of his buddy A.L. Thuras.

Around 2005, Void Acoustics reintroduced the Paraflex.

Alcons Audio also manufactures 15-inch Faital Pro horn loaded mid-bass Paraflex subs.
The shown stack's horizontal polar is quite impressive.
