I didn't liked few years ago the Kef Blade II in a stone big wall (reverberant) with Moon audio. I also didn't find they diseapeered. The shop and the brand which made the event, setuped better the positionning and toe-ing after I asked, but I found it a little climbing like /monitor sound and not musical. I wasn't impressioned by the soundstage but it migth be the room in which I listened too. I found they had kick though.
Weird... I have a set of KEF R coax from the 2018 models - paired with two WO24P woofers in an active version of a copying the old KEF R900. They have an awesome sound stage in my little below medium damped apartment. Of course I'm biased, since I build them myself 😛
Kef Blade's are build to be neutral like a monitor, not coloured like many older hifi speakers. Many like that, some not (i'm rather on the latter camp). It's a choice by the company,
But i think you mainly ran into a room that makes all speakers sound bad, because very reverberant rooms are never a good place to judge a speaker, you hear the room, not the speaker.
And soundstage is in the music and how you position the speakers to the listening spot, not the speakers itself. A speaker is a mono device that don't position music in the space. When working in stereo it does, but that is the mix (or the not so good setup that messes with it).

i really think it was the room, too much echos. being at 4 meters in the center,front of it didn't change things.
