Great work on those! Someone already posted a link to your thread here. Are we allowed to post links to other forums? I tested a bunch of 8" woofers last year over on HTG....
I wanted to ask you: What did you do with the Wavecor woofer you chose?
Yup, it's an 8" woofer threadA 15" is better ! A 8" is not at ease below 100Hz... But if you have size constraints...
I think it would be tricky to make a smooth and sleek looking tower speaker with 15" woofers and a narrow baffle around the midrange/tweeter/coax, which IMO is needed to have a smooth and precise stereo image. I find wide baffle speakers to have a less precise image, because the much bigger baffle contribute too much with all sorts of "new" sounds, rather than just the sound from the drivers alone.
Maybe the huge speaker from Dunlavy, where the entire front is heavily covered in felt:
https://www.stereophile.com/floorloudspeakers/99dun4/index.html
Nevertheless, I do like big woofers, I just need to build the best I can with the bag of compromises that I've already chosen
@digitalthor Yes ! But to make a lonnnng story short see Linkwitz LX521 or Nao note II RS or BW nautilus... Best results in imaging, precision of bass. Just know what, why you are doing things
I only tried the L22 and have the DXT. But I believe they make pretty good drivers all over. What about the SEAS CA22RNY? Does anyone used or heard these? Any experience based opinion?
The RNY seem well ventilated, light coned, high efficiency and over-all a good driver - for around the price of Wavecor or SS classic.

It's no Revelator, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it to the 1K I used here. Pair it with something like the Beast Mode tweeter in a 6 or 8 inch waveguide and it would make a cool, cheap large 2-way.

Attached are in-box measurement of the woofer. One is distortion the other is gated. As I said, I wouldn't be afraid to use it all the way to 1K. It might even do well as an old school 2-way using the top end roll off as the crossover.
Sorry for potato quality pictures but its all I have (I think).

"I am glad I tested all the woofers I had as it resulted in one making the cut that I didn't even consider initially, the GRS 8SW-4. The 8SW-4 has smooth frequency response up past 2 kHz which was totally unexpected since it is labeled as a subwoofer. Funny how it's actually better suited for 2-way designs and has a smoother frequency response then any of GRS's other 8" woofers."

Which brand was it?fountek fw222 in a construction
I got a pair when they were deeply discounted, but now they cost as much as SB and others
What ???? Some brands name ? Don't want to embarrass any people LOLAs an example, there is several constructions with Purifi drivers here, which sounds boomy and coloured, in comparison with way cheaper and simpler driver designs... Simply because of inferior use and lack of proper EQ.
