Well I’d say you found a good one Bill, and seeing as it won a Grammy in ‘10 for best contemporary blues album I’d say it’s on topic!

Bill, you might find it interesting that one of Derek Trucks musical influences was Indian Classical.....Ali Akbar Khan was mentioned as a major contributor.
I never realized the connection until reading about it now, but once educated it’s quite obvious! Sahib Teri Bandi / Makki Madni - NFAK (The Derek Trucks Band - live at Crossroads 2007) - YouTube

So made the wife listen. Her response was 'ok so far so wierd'. Ah well I can't win them all. Indian classical music does have rather a lot of styles. And she does put up with me ribbing her on some music where, 5 minutes in I ask 'are they ever going to get that Sitar tuned'.
I rather liked it.
Here’s a British blues band that has a good mash of sound! Definately makes your head bop. The Milk Men - Gimme Some Blues - YouTube

I do listen a lot to contemporary blues, it's one of the few remaining music styles that has anything to offer, if you ask me.
