My DAC. Basically a #26 or #01A tube output preamp (I built it for the 26 but now prefer the 01A) wrapped around a Buffalo III SE Pro 9028 DAC, with JL Sounds fully isolated USB to I2S input board.
A switch on the back toggles between use as a preamp with 6 line inputs and use as a USB or SPDIF input DAC (another switch selects USB vs SPDIF). The DAC is interfaced to the 01A via Lundahl amorphous cobalt core LL1676 transformers wired 1:1 (2||2:1+1) with a 1k+3nF snubber on the secondary.
The output of the 01A is in parafeed to Bent Audio nickle core silver wired autoformers as OPTs and volume controls.
Power supplies (choke input) are in a separate box connected via umbilical.
The three unconnected wires in the back right are now connected from a 4-position rotary switch to the DAC to select the IIR filter. 70K sounds best to me; I convert everything to DSD512 using HQPlayer.

The DC balance of the Buffalo DAC differential outputs must be very good, because the primaries of the LL1676s are directly connected to the DAC and with an amorphous cobalt core they would saturate/become magnetized with any significant DC offset. That has not happened in this unit nor did it happen over several years in my previous ES9018 Buffalo DAC.
Always good when you can avoid another cap!

Hello Claude. I've done quite a few upgrades to my circa 1985 RSIIb's with external passive crossovers, internal bracing, new EMIM ribbon diaphragms from Apogee, new EMIT planar tweeter diaphragms, Cardas Copper Litz wiring, and a completely redesigned LF EQ unit. I haven't yet heard a "modern" speaker that beats them, but I'm not really looking, either...
