Lowther cabinet plans

I have listened to PM2A silver in Hedlund horn.
They were compared to the B&W 802D3. I thought they were more organic. Very good rating.
I thought the PM6A was just okay. But it probably depends on music selection and box selection.

B&W 802D3 ;

The price of B&W 802D3 is about $18,000 in Sweden.
Then I think these PM2As are worth the price. They are recommended for Hedlund horns.

There was a photo of the Big Fun horn in this thread. It is a relatively simple yet clever design, predating CAD, but could work very well if you have 2 corners which they need to shine.
If I had the living room space now, would like to try them with a modern fostex fe208ns or somesuch. Most important is the low qts. It should be acceptable in the lower frequencies. Maybe later - we may move out of Hong Kong eventually.
Same for the lowther academy. Would be cool to make it with top modern fostexes, possibly changing the plans a bit in case of different depth of the drivers.
I mentioned before that I once heard lowthers in a tp1 corner horn. Forgot the driver in it, but while an old design, it was perfectly musical.

PM2C specs seem friendly to a Karlson K12 (or 0.85 scale Acoustic Control 115BK). ( I think Diyaudio member "Suntiger" would use a curved reflector per Rig.6 of patent 3540544)

PM2C… can’t find it at the Lowther site. I assume a ceramic magnet on a PM2A? Data?

PM2A, first approximation, fits a 9 litre miniOnken that has an estimated F6 of 90Hz, F10 80 Hz.

Besides not gong very low,fitting an 8” driver in a 9 litre box with vents could be tricky.

Response is pretty decent based on those numbers.

F10 in the mid/low 40s, F6 low 50s. Really small box thou. 11 litres, could be a challenge to make the baffle big enuff.

Given how low and how small, sensitivity has to give by Hoffman’s Law. The frequency response is probably rising up to the 97dB number.

Response is similar to PM6 but in a third the volume.
