Hi, just a quickie to flag up that I can't get AirPlay to work on version 3.8.4. I can see Moode Audio on my iPad, but for some reason I can't produce any sound. This is by no means a big deal. By the looks of it there was similar issue earlier in the year.
Yep - same here.
iTunes on my Mac Mini picks up Moode airplay no problem but iPhone = big fat nada.
Only option offered in iOS v10.3.3 (14G60) is to connect to Apple TV via Airplay - in my case clicking on it results in an endless search for my (non-existent) ApTV.
Probably just another of Apple's recent 'improvements' to the user experience.

Hi,
Maybe your audio device does not support 16-bit? Try changing the bit depth in Airplay config.

Hi,
On iPhone, swipe up from bottom then swipe left to get the Music settings panel. It will have the list of Airplay receivers.

Many thanks for coming back to me Tim and I'm sorry to bother you with this.
I'm trying to get sound out of my iPad, something I've been able to do many times before. Its a rather dated iPad 3 that I use so it seems unlikely that the issue will relate to that. The stuff I want to listen is archived BBC material available via its App. I know the BBC has put in place measures to limit access to its content - I hope not, but perhaps this also extends to preventing Airplay playback... Incidentally, the word 'Airplay' is displayed is displayed on moode's playback screen but the time beneath this just states '00:00'.
No joy with Piano 2.1 and DSD
Made the suggested changed and rebooted. Added track to playback ( file is on USB drive along with non DSD files. This time the track plays see the screenshot but there is absolutely no sound. Other non DSD files play just fine. I noticed when adding DSD files to playback there is a long delay in loading as well. If there are MPD settings that may need to be changed I am will give them a try.
Thanks again for Pro Tips.
Hi,
The Piano 2.1 does not support DoP protocol. Set "DSD over PCM (DoP)" to no and you should be all set.

When i am installing Moode, than i have to initialize my big library and set different audio settings. I start with library intializing (direct attached hd with ~4000 CDs), it takes around 40 minutes. When i am changing audio settings during database creation, than mpd is restarting, and database creation is interrupted and not finished.
Is it possible to recognize, that when mpd is restarting during database creation, than this process will be started automatically again after mpd restart, or after answering the question: "Database creation was interrupted. Do You want to start it again ?"
Another thing - when i am changing the source of the library (another usb drive or pendrive), than moode is not always recognizing it, even when i try to initialize the database again, the new hardware source is not recognized. I did the shh login and checked the source availability with fdisk, it is there, but creation of new database creation was not possible and it is not mounted. I did it many times since 3.7, and in such a case only fresh installation allowed to change library on directly attached usb drive or pendrive.
Is some kind of menu "library source changed, check for new available drives" possible ?
🙂

That's standard for airplay.
I tried streaming the Archers from iPlayer iPad app on 10.3.3 and it works fine on my Pi3
As i said before, airplay has been rock-solid for ages.
What's more likely is that something else is the issue.
What Pi, what DAC, any changes to audio, mpd settings from stock? Are you resampling?
Other than Sox resampling, my setup is bone stock and airplay works fine every time, from iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Mac mini, Apple TV.

Don't know if cursing will help, maybe tickling the RPI will do
But don't think it's a cache thing (other browsers had the same issue)
I stay curious if there's a way I can find out using the logfiles whether the RPI hasn't shutdown correctly or if it's network related??
Last time I shut the RPI via SSH, next time I booted there was no problem connecting... maybe something's going wrong with the shutdown script nested in my Moode installation??
Hello
Ok then let me know, i wrote to Audiophonic, because it is strange that they are selling combo Reclocker + 9028 and i think that they should register it during testing.... with 9018 driver it is better ? where did you get moode 4.03, it is only for testing and for choosen people ? thanks Vita
Hi,
I tested with a new SD and Moode 4.0b4.
Everything is working fine except wifi that goes down after few minutes.
Maybe, I'll check with a new RPI/new OS cause I think if we are only two on the thread having wifi issues, there is few chances that it is a moose issue.
Did you got some answers from audiophonics about kali and 9028.
Hi
It seems that only I have problem with playing PCM (any flac or mp3) i did not test any DSD if i have problem with basic formats...now i am back with MamboLS and no problem...i tested all settings and it seem that I have defect piece because all users who has this DAC dont have problem with PCM files....🙁

Hi,
Why not make your audio configs first then start MPD database update and have a coffee 🙂

Hi,
I missed your post. The Beta program filled up a short time after being announced and was closed to new members a while ago, but feel free to contact me via email, I'd like to know more about your audio company 🙂

Bonjour Sevennn.
Use sudo systemctl enable start-gui.service. LCD show
That will start it every time you reboot.

Moode / Mconnect problem
Hi guys,
I wonder if someone could help me please. I’m a registered Moode user. Today I’ve downloaded the latest version to my Raspberry Pi Micro SD Card. Prior to this the Pi Streamer with HiFi Berry DAC + was all working fine using the Mconnect app. After installation of the latest Moode Audio software I have the following issue
My PC when logged onto Moode.local can access the PI and the USB stick which contains my audio files and play them through the Pi.
When I try and control Moode Audio from my phone using the Mconnect app it doesn't seem to be able to see or access any files on the USB stick.
Does anyone have any thoughts please ?
Many thanks
Graham

It looks like that all my recent problems: inconsistent wifi, kali reclocker going mad, big audio glitches, system crashes, etc... came from my 9028-q2m dac board. i will send it back to manufacturer next week for them to check it. (my card was(I think) from the first batch they produced,so maybe it was a defect piece too).
I just tried moode 8.3.4 and 4.0b4 with my old dac card suptronics x4000 + kali, and everything is working fine on both versions. I don't understand how a dac card may cause wifi problems with the rpi3, but looks like it is the case.
Thank you Tim, for your help and your patience.
Hi @terry22,
Could be on-board oscillators emitting RF that interferes in the WiFi 2.4 GHz band, similar to the Hifiberry DAC+Pro issue.
Just scroll to the bottom of issue #1588
WLAN driver not working correctly when using HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro * Issue #1588 * raspberrypi/linux * GitHub

Hey Graham, have you tried another DLNA player other than Mconnect?
Did you set up the DLNA server at configure>audio>renderers ?
I am on ver 3.8.4 and just tried a DLNA app and it worked fine
