Hi all,
I've just installed the latest version of Moode. My mp3 library is loaded in Moode (it's on a USB drive connected to the Pi). I've enabled the uPnP server but it's not cataloguing my audio.
In the last Moode version you could see the catalogue being built when enabling uPnp and then the songs were available to select on my Roberts 83i radio.
Is there something that needs to be done on the latest version of Moode or are there any instructions out there. Is there some way I can debug what's going on?
Much appreciated.
Rob
Hi Rob,
I just tested the DLNA server feature on System config and its working ok. No issues indexing music.

Hey Tim, what info do you need and how can I test my hardware with my device name, instead of pretending to be some other compatible device? Is there a table I can update somewhere?
Hi Mike,
Send me an email 🙂
-Tim
Of course.
Helped @lorenzoferrara of rataks
https://rataks.com/blog/first-test-with-moode-and-official-raspberry-pi-touch-display.html
It is not as nice as in the Rune, but it works.
Maybe someday @Tim also will do it. 😀
Thanks for the link, I also found your earlier post. I've got part way through the installation and run into an error stating that there isn't enough space in /var/cache/apt/archives/. So now I'm trying to work out how to either make more room or clear the archive.
Thanks again.
Besides all the good - Issues with shareing USB mount
Hello to all of you.
First of all a thumbs up for moode 2.7.
I have been fiddling around with it for some days now and I am quite impressed. Seems to follow up volumio in my Setting. I am using it in a Network one moode Running with hifiberry digi+ and USB harddrive using ethernet connection and one player using wifi, USB out to external dac and using the USB Storage of the First one as Share Mount. So far Most of this Setting is working Great but on the second Player I experience Problems. Quite often the Playback of nas Share Music Stops and resumes at random. No Issues with Radio.
I Would greatly appreciate suggestions to solve this. If any Logs are neccessary please provide the location. As Linux Newby it is hard sometimes.
P.S. Please excuse the capital letters. Unfortunately have to use a Tablet with awful correction. I surely dont want to be Offensive.

The default RPi kernel doesn't support > 192k. 384k support is possible if you are willing to patch the kernel and have hardware capable of 384k. It is unlikely that the 384k patch set will ever be included in the RPi kernel sources.
The 384k patch set is available from the Enable 352k8 and 384k sample rates for I2S connected boards/HATs that support those rates PR, and should still apply to current rpi-4.4.y sources.
Hi,
I used to have a feature in Moode that would load different kernels using locally stored tars of /boot, /lib/modules and /lib/firmware.
If u would like to have the custom kernel get a bit wider exposure then run cmds below from one of your Pi's:
sudo tar -zcf bootfiles.tar.gz /boot
sudo tar -zcf libfirmware.tar.gz /lib/firmware
sudo tar -zcf libmodules.tar.gz /lib/modules
and send me download link.
I'd still still ship Moode with mainline Linux kernel and then have the custom kernel as special option for specific uses.

Thanks again.
In the top right menu, clicking on "Configure" the "Configuration settings" pops-up.
Under the "System" option we need to find the "Expand SD Card storage" option and enable it.
Moode will reboot and expand the filesytem on the SD card.

@wieniu26,
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I've now installed and verified all the files as shown in Rataks guide, but I still have no display. Moode is working and I can access it on my local network using the usual address 192.168.0.xx. Do I need to use this in the start-x.sh file "
midori) matchbox-window-manager -use_cursor no -use_titlebar no & midori -e Fullscreen -a http://127.0.0.1/" ? I'll give it a try and see.

Success, I now have the MoOde GUI on the Raspberry Pi touchscreen. Thanks to @wieniu26 and Ratak.
The Audiophonics Raspdac is a nice, albeit expensive, enclosure for a ES9023 Dac with an integrated oled screen. The product page is located here:
AUDIOPHONICS RaspDAC Kit DIY Network player Raspberry Pi 2.0 & DAC Sabre V3 - Audiophonics
Until recently it only worked with Volumio and Runeaudio, however they recently made a Moode image with no instructions how it was done.
Reverse engineering the Audiophonics image, I have set out instructions to get it working with Moode with both the power button and display operational on their forum here:
Forum Audiophonics.fr • Consulter le sujet - Moode Audio support?
If anyone else is using the Audiophonics kit and not yet using Moode on it, hopefully you find the instructions useful. I have used various usb, hifiberry and iqaudio dacs and so far this is my favourite.
Thanks Tim for your work on Moode. Hopefully the updates won't break my install too often. I am guessing the likely breakage will be if worker.php is updated.

Hi,
Run a 30 sec ping test from Pi#2 to Pi#1 and then examine the ping statistics for excessively long round trip times, packet loss, dropped packets, etc.

So many DACs; so little time!
That's a handsome case and given the parts included, the price isn't outrageous. The shipping cost to our side of the ocean is annoying but c'est la vie.
Thanks for sharing how you got it working with Moode. I enjoyed reading through the code.
Maybe I'm just not fully awake yet, but it seems to me that in Moode r2.7 the changes you make to worker.php belong more properly in the shell script restart.sh, which would be easier to track when updates occur. Even easier if Tim provides some hooks for user-defined functions (I think this point may have been discussed in earlier threads).
Regards,
Kent

I think this model can't be bought anymore (Pi-2 version), but now you can buy the Pi-3 version:
AUDIOPHONICS RaspDAC Kit DIY Network player Raspberry Pi 3.0 & DAC Sabre V3 - Audiophonics
It's 20 Euros more than the Pi-2 version. Still affordable TMO.
Also take a look at the RaspTOUCH versions:
RaspTouch Open Source Player ES9023 DAC / Raspberry Pi 3 Black - Audiophonics
RaspTouch Open Source Player ES9018K2M DAC / Raspberry Pi 3 Silver - Audiophonics
That one combines all what you need for a audio-streamer, I think. Price is a bit stiff, though.
Hi,
Sad to report that ALPHA Detroit radio station which showcased the best of the Detroit electronic music and progressive soul scene is no longer broadcasting.
It will be replaced by Burst Radio Detroit, another really great listener supported, commercial free station that features Detroit style EDM, live broadcasts from local venues, interviews and an impressive show list (below).
Binaural Frequencies
Technotic Tuesday
Planet Funk
The Grid
Sound On Fire
We Do This!
FLOR PLAY
Burst will be included in the first Moode 2.7 update, coming soon 🙂

Tim

Thanks Tim, overlooked the feature at first, but now all expanded. Midori etc. installed and RPi 7" touchscreen working fine.
Hi,
If anyone is running a PlainDAC+ (PCM5121) I need a screen shot of alsamixer and a dump from the amixer command so I can verify the chip options.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim,
Thanks for moode, keeps getting better!
Feature request: HDMI disable. Like piCorePlayer.
2.7 works with the new HifiBerry Digi+ PRO -- Driver is the same as the Digi+ (4.4.19+) Maybe update your description to Digi+/Digi+ PRO ?

Hi Scott,
According to Hifiberry, the Digi+ Pro auto-loads the driver from its EEPROM and ignores whatever is set in config.txt. Since the driver is in kernel 4.4.19 which what Moode 2.7 uses, the Digi+ Pro works with the Digi+ setting. Btw, it uses hifiberry-digi-pro driver which is different from the driver used for the Digi+
What is purpose of HDMI disable?

I see... guess you already know about it 🙂 ...was suggesting an update to the description in the UI dropdown.
HDMI: 30mA power savings and possibly less noise. It's easy to do from command line: tvservice -o.
