By the way, the active crossovers I referred to aren't digital, they are analogue:

Joseph Crowe reviewed the xKitz favourably. I have heard them too. By all accounts I am aware of they are quite transparent. Anyway I am committed to vinyl, so don't want an ADC in my system.

Yes, there was some missing detail in the sound (vocal formants were muted, and the snare drums didn't have their 'snap'). Given that the high pass filter would have had a frequency of 1.4kHz rather than 700Hz I would have had a love 700Hz trough!
Ah yes, my apologies. I read 'active' and my mind went immediately to the digital domain. It sounds like an appropriate type of crossover for your application. Pretty much everything I send to the amplifier is from a digital source, so my 'bar' is lower than yours
