Good trades everyone, would you be so kind to share the UPD-CD files, is there any news about the problem with the b23 option?
If we could get hold of somebodies image of their HDD (or key files) of their UPL with that option, I would be more than willing to help reconstruct the installer.

Hi All,
Here is an update on the UPA Test CD.
Thanks to thebrunx for sharing the test cd. It was no trivial feat as R&S saved the audio image and no separate files. I was able to extract the archive and exported the raw information to each Wav file. I've also added the original download as well.
All files can be found on my drive under Modules. I have added several other application notes and modules from the R&S site as well.

I have also restructured the booklet so you can reprint it duplex on your own printer.

Here is an update on the B23 Option - Coded Audio Signal Generation.
I have found an UPL that had the option installed. After some digging I found the missing files.
On the C-drive there will be a folder called CODED. In there are necessary files for the option.
Since these files are too big to fit on a floppy, I have recreated an installer to fit onto 3 floppies like the original.
Here is an excerpt of the readme file:

Software Option UPL-B23 'Coded Audio Signal Generation'
Version: 1.0
=========================================================================
Installing UPL-B23 software
===========================
- power up the UPL.
- leave the UPL software with keystroke 'SYSTEM' or 'ctrl F9',
followed by '<+' (RETURN).
- insert UPL-B23 installation floppy (disk 1 of 3)
- at the DOS-prompt change to drive A by typing 'A:' and '<+'.
- at the A:> prompt enter 'b23inst' and '<+'.
- the B23 software will now install to C:\CODED\AC3
- follow the instructions on the screen
- at the end of installation remove disk 3 of 3 UPL will be rebooted.
The complete CODED folder can be found on my drive. Besides that you'll find the 3 install disks I have made in both folder form as in images. Insert each floppy and run B23INST.BAT.

The only item I have seen is that I can only find AC3 (Dolby Digital). According to the UPL menu there should also be an option for DTS (Digital Theatre System) although I cannot find anything on it on the original UPL, not even in the readme file. I have no idea if this is something you could choose when ordering the B23 option or if it was released at all.
Anyway, hopefully this already helps those who needed it.

Sorry for my noob question, but how can one connect a USB audio interface for example an Audient ID4 to the digital IO of the R&S analyzer for ADC and DAC measurements? Which adapters will be needed?

HELLO ALL PARTNERS, IN MY CASE I HAVE A USB KEYBOARD WITH TWO ADAPTERS, ONE FROM DIN TO PS2 AND THE OTHER FROM PS2 TO USB, IT WORKS WITH ANY KEYBOARD
Is it the little round connector with very small pins? "PS2"
And most of what you can buy today is USB. (PS2 keyboards are available as used or as specialty items; adapting a USB keyboard is usually cheaper.)

USB Keyboard to PS/2 Adapter
It has to be noted that PS/2 and USB are entirely different bussen, with no compatibility between them whatsoever. And that the linked adapter is entirely passive, without any protocol conversion.
This adapter only works for keyboards with the ability to do both protocols on the same connector. I don't know if modern USB keyboards can still do PS/2 on their USB connector. If the keyboard came with a similar adapter in the box, it probably does. If not, your results may vary 🙂.

I got my UPL off of eBay, many years ago, and when it arrived, it had one button below the display missing. Of course it was not missing on auction photos, but the seller said he was unaware, and offered me to return it, transatlantically 😕.
Anyway; I would love to have a replacement button. I think they come all together in a strip. I prefer a whole strip, but beggars can't be choosers, so I'd already be very happy with just one button.
I can only offer monetary compensation, as I have no spare parts to trade, and free software upgrades with my UPL Keygen, which - by the way - is still way under-starred 😉.
