If signal is full,NPN in bottom saturated(Vce #0v) is it will damage.
Designing any To2 device to dissipate a quiescent power of ~50% of Pmax (@Ta=25degC) is completely bonkers.

You use low frequency (1-10Hz) of sine wave in put,out put conector load true(4 or 8 ohm)
Used Oscilloscope to see signal in C-NPN,the peak of this signal # (V-) => damage now.
